The “D” Word with Peter Hill- UK Health Radio
? Peter Hill is such an interesting guy and how UK Health Radio came about will make you sit back and sigh, WOW. I really enjoyed our conversation. He cracked me up with his comments about having a face for radio and me trying to pronounce some of the UK towns. We got it though! I believe we found each other on LinkedIn. Social media is our friend here at Doggies for Dementia.
Peter is also a guest on our own Video Blog- Experts Dig in with Doggies for Dementia. It’ll be out soon. I, Carmen, Doggies for Dementia Foundation’s founder and president was first a guest on his radio show! There was so much to talk about! I’m ready to head on over across the pond and meet Peter and the other wonderful people I’ve met virtually in the UK. I think Doggies needs to hit the road or international airways as the case may be. By the way, Peter has a new puppy who made an appearance as well. So cute!
Guess what??
This program about Doggies for Dementia Foundation is nominated as one of their top shows! We are one-of-a-kind after all. ?

? I love this group! AlzAuthors started with a small group of creative women who found themselves as caregivers for a loved one with dementia, and wrote books to help others. Isn’t that how GREAT things happen? We want to help others avoid some of the pain and frustrations we ourselves have endured? They then grouped together to form the nonprofit AlzAuthors which has grown to include TONS of amazing resources including my own book, Just See Me, Sacred Stories from the Other Side of Dementia. You’ll find more categories for dementia related books than you can imagine, blogs, podcasts, interviews with authors and MORE! I love this group and we’ve had some of the authors on our video blog on YouTube-Experts Dig in with Doggies for Dementia. You really don’t want to miss this one. I cannot wait to meet them in person. I stand in complete admiration of those who saw a need, and went beyond their comfort zone to create something so incredible for people impacted by dementia. ? Our 30 minute conversations went on for hours. They’re the kind of people you just can’t let go.
You’ll want to offer this resource to your clients! They have books-check out the variety, podcasts, blogs and more. Check them out HERE!
I ?LOVE ?LOVE ?LOVE ? this! Denise Bernacki is raising funds for her walk to end Alzheimer’s in honor of her Grandma, Evelyn Dressler. She creates some amazing art and sells them on Instagram. I found her there and was so impressed by her paintings and her mission. I know the energy that goes into creating art. It’s a physical, emotional and spiritual journey for sure.
I admire her drive to use beauty to create hope. Visit her IG Account (Art4Alzheimers) and choose your favorite painting and donate HERE. One day I saw her post with the doggie painting and knew where it needed to be. With fingers crossed, I reached out and grabbed one for us here in our Doggies for Dementia lair. I was so excited to get my adorable dog painting and just today I saw a painting with a camper I need to get for my husband. Denise will be one of our guests on Experts Dig in with Doggies for Dementia soon! I can’t wait to meet her, learn more about her and thank her for the beautiful art work I see every day. I’m handy with a camera, but not so much with paint and canvas. She has my respect in many ways.
Say what you will about Social Media, but I’ve met some amazing people on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. Twitter is even gaining speed. Do you follow Doggies for Dementia?
