Experts Dig in with Doggies for Dementia-Financial Clarity with Jennifer Radford
Who else worries about finances?
My husband and I just sat down to update our wills and financial plans and it was uncomfortable. Before you scold us, while we are in our 60s, keep in mind that we are newlyweds. It had to be done, but how many of us put planning like this at the bottom of the list and move it to the next week, and next week and next week? I know you’ve got your hands up. If you are preparing to care for a loved one with Alzheimer’s Disease/Dementia, then you likely have anxiety around finances.
Families impacted by dementia are forced to make some big decisions and usually in a quick way. Making Sudden BIG decisions is not the way to go, so advanced planning, while is essential for all of us, but especially family caregivers.
This is why I love today’s guest. Jennifer Ewing Radford helps to make sense out of the financial terms and decisions that can make many of us uncomfortable. There is a lot to think about and to talk about, however having someone with expertise can make the journey much easier.
If you’re like me, just thinking about money makes me a bit dizzy, so we’re breaking it down to make it easy.
- What do you ask?
- Who should you ask?
- Where do you begin?
We’ve got you covered!
People are living longer and often that means we live longer but with more health issues than ever before. No doubt Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of dementia are becoming more prevalent world wide. More people are being directly impacted at a younger age. Caregivers, including singles, young families with children all the way to people in their eighties are becoming family caregivers. Even if they do not provide direct care, they surprisingly become financial responsible for their loved one with dementia. Perhaps you’ve seen some of our blogs and video blogs on Experts Dig in with Doggies for Dementia on our YouTube channel.
- You might be called upon to care for an elderly or ill loved one. They may have Alzheimer’s Disease or other form of dementia further complicating the situation.
- Often the call is urgent.
- We must plan for our financial stability and consider the “What Ifs”.
