Welcome to another wonderful episode of Experts Dig in with Doggies for Dementia! I LOVE this episode. Truth is, I LOVE them all, however when I “met” Denise on Instagram and saw the beautiful art, I just had to share this story with you. You’ll want to be sure and watch this episode of Experts Dig in with Doggies for Dementia. The video is down below.
Denise and I really hit it off and even had the same shade of nail polish. I know, I know. It doesn’t sound like such a big deal, however when you consider it is a long retired shade of ColorStreet Nail Strips, and we both just happened to choose it that week, well… See? It was meant to be.
Doggies for Dementia Foundation is well represented on Instagram YouTube and Facebook. In fact, I answer every comment, create each post and write the narrative as well. I love looking at what others are doing, and when I find someone doing something special I look to see if their story would interest you, our audience. I found Art4Alzheimers on Instagram and got curious so I reached out to Denise. I also saw the cutest dog painting, and knew it had to go on the shelf behind my desk. A few messages later, Denise and I met on Zoom and recorded an interview for our audience here on Doggies for Dementia.
A Little Bit About Denise: You really want to listen to this interview, however I’ll tell you a little bit about Denise. She has a young son and wanted to keep him entertained and inspired during the lockdown secondary to Covid-19 pandemic. She decided to do some paintings and guess what? Her life changed even though she had no artist training!
She and her son had a great time and when it came time to raise funds for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Wisconsin, she decided to sell her art on Instagram. Her grandmother had dementia, and the walk is her way of honoring her grandmother. I see every piece of art as a gift inspired by her loving grandmother. We have 2 in our home and one for our grandson because we love them so much.
Each one is specially hand painted. Denise is often able to fulfill special requests. They’re priced from $10-$25 with minimal shipping. You can’t go wrong! It’s a beautiful mission, unique art and just so special. You can see why we here at Doggies for Dementia Foundation love this so much.
