?Getting to Know Lee Noel
We recently highlighted Lee Noel and her family, including her daughter Jennifer and family dog, Wyatt-who had plenty of smiles for us!

Doggies for Dementia’s mission is to gift exceptional experiences to families and raise awareness with education about dementia. Photography sessions, matted prints and a video-slideshow are GIFTED to families.
Together we share their story in blogs, our YouTube channel and on social media with a mission to raise awareness. We know the world can be a more kind and compassionate place for those with dementia as we all learn more about it.

?Getting to know Lee Noel
She was married 54 years, and enjoyed raising her three daughters. She has 7 grandkids, and 3 great grandkids
Lee Loves Lipstick!
She loved when her husband told jokes. She would laugh before the punch line. She would try to retell the joke but never could.
She has always been proud to be married to a Texas A&M professor in the ciivil engineering department. They influenced many children and grandchildren to attend college at Texas A&M. In fact, 2 of their daughters graduated as engineers. Two grandsons recently graduated and work as engineers. Their oldest granddaughter founded the first engineering club for women at Texas A&M.

They find singing “You Are My Sunshine” makes her smile.
She grew up very poor. She was a little Polish girl who spoke no English until she went to the first grade. While she had a difficult childhood she had many happy experiences. She told her daughters many times of the joy of swimming in the creek with her 5 little brothers. They would ride on the backs of giant turtles!
Lee was diagnosed with dementia when she was 80, eleven years ago.

What are some challenging things for her family:
Knowing they can’t ask her questions as she loses those precious memories of her childhood.
Communication- what does she want/need? How does she feel? She can’t remember the last 10 min.

Having Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of Dementia can lead to isolation and loneliness even when there are loving family and friends around. Pets can help so much. So does a special dedicated photo session about the person and family who just happens to have dementia. We aim to put the person first.
Doggies for Dementia is a 501c3 corporation with a mission to provide beautiful experiences and memories for those impacted by dementia using photography. We are also advocates with sights on raising awareness through education, so nobody has to experience the pain of stigma, isolation and loneliness.
Thank you to all who donate to Doggies for Dementia. We could not do it without you or to our sponsors Concho Hearts Hospice, Precision Camera and Video and Carmen’s Legacy Productions. Special thanks to Kelli Hudson at Sundara Senior Care who helped us make this happen.
