Jeff Borghoff
Living with Early Onset Alzheimer’s Disease
In March of 2016 at the age of 51, Jeff was diagnosed with Younger Onset / Early-Stage Alzheimer’s Disease. You can read his full story here. Since his diagnosis, I have been working with great fervor with the National Alzheimer’s Association as a member of the National Early-Stage Advisory Group and an Early-Stage Ambassador with the Delaware Valley & Greater NJ Early-Stage Advisory Councils and an Alzheimer’s Congressional Team member. The Alzheimer’s Association has a vision of “A world without Alzheimer’s®” and a mission to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
Jeff and Kim, his wife live a busy life. Kim works two jobs and Jeff has been busy as an Alzheimer’s advocate. He recently took a hiatus in order to lighten the load for his wife and family following the death of his brother. He posts beautiful blogs about living with Alzheimer’s Disease. Even if he isn’t active speaking at conferences or involved with the Alzheimer’s Association at the local and national level.

Jeff, Kim and their best furry friend, Buddy are today’s featured blog and highlighted in our See Me Project. Jeff and his wife Kim were one of our first families featured with Doggies for Dementia Foundation. I spent the weekend with them in New Jersey, and hold them very close to my heart. Jeff shares our mission to raise awareness and we can all learn from their journey. They are grounded in faith, love and hope. I imagine you’ll share our respect and love for this couple as you get to know them.
